Confirmed: free fireworks from the end of Worthing Pier on Thursday 5 November 2026 at 7.30pm, with a funfair and food stalls. Where to watch and where to park.

Worthing’s Bonfire Night fireworks are on: Thursday 5 November 2026, let off at 7.30pm from the end of Worthing Pier. The display is free, run by Worthing Lions in partnership with Worthing Town Centre BID.

The quick answer

  • Thursday 5 November 2026, fireworks at 7.30pm, fired from the end of the pier. Worthing Lions’ page now marks the 2026 display “Confirmed”.
  • Free to watch, with no tickets. Volunteers collect in buckets on the night, and you can also donate online.
  • The pier itself is closed during the display. Watch from the promenade and beach.
  • Expect road closures around the pier and seafront. No closure order has been published yet.

Updated 3 October: Worthing Lions have confirmed the 2026 date and time; this page previously carried last year’s details.

Worthing Lions’ fireworks page now reads “Worthing Pier 5th November 2026 at 7:30pm (fireworks let off) Confirmed FREE”. The Lions say the display is “easily and safely seen from the Worthing promenade and beach”, that the pier is closed for safety, and that there will be road closures in the area of the pier and seafront, “so please arrange to turn up early to avoid missing the fireworks”. (Worthing Lions, November Fireworks)

The BID’s own event listing has not caught up yet: on 3 October it still showed Wednesday 5 November 2025. (Worthing Town Centre BID)

What happens on the night

All of this is from the Worthing Lions page for the 2026 display.

  • Fired from the end of Worthing Pier at 7.30pm. The whole promenade and beach can see it.
  • Free, with no tickets. The costs of the fireworks and the event are covered by Worthing Lions in partnership with the BID. A bucket collection on the night goes to good causes in the area. The Lions also thank Worthing Borough Council for working with them on it.
  • Coles funfair and food stalls before and after, and the Lions point people to the town centre cafes and restaurants, which stay open through the evening.
  • Road closures around the pier and seafront. Arrive early.

Does the pier repair affect it

The pier is being repaired, but the council says it is staying open. Work on a permanent repair started on 20 August 2026, replacing the temporary steel support fitted after the October 2024 storm damage. The council says it is doing the work “in the summer and early autumn when the weather conditions and tides are generally easier”, and expects “the pier able to remain open at the same time”. (Adur & Worthing Councils, PR26-072)

The next stage was to use September’s spring tides to install foundations for the replacement piles. As at 3 October the council has issued no later news release on the pier, and the Lions’ 2026 page still names the end of the pier as the firing point. We cover the job in full on our Worthing Pier permanent repair page.

Where to watch

The Lions’ point is the simple one: the display fires from the pier head and the whole promenade and beach see it. The BID’s 2025 round-up named the spots it thought worked, which were Soundcheck, Pier View, Coast Cafe, Number 24, The Goose, The Beach House, the promenade and beach generally, and the Beach House Park edge for anyone wanting to be further back from the crush.

Parking, and the car park that is gone

The nearest large car park to the pier is Grafton multi-storey, and it is closed for good. The council shut it in May 2025 after its condition deteriorated, then put the cost of the most basic safe repair at £17.1m, which does not include the lifts or the drainage. It will not reopen in its current form before the site is redeveloped. (Adur & Worthing Councils, PR25-054)

That leaves Buckingham Road, High Street, Civic Quarter, Union Place and Bedford Row. On a weekday evening the multi-storey tariff matters: charging at Buckingham Road, High Street and Civic Quarter runs to 10pm, at £13.40 for anything over five hours. Buckingham Road and High Street are free between 10pm and 6am. Civic Quarter still charges overnight, up to £3.70. Full tariffs are on our parking in Worthing page.

Note that the multi-storeys no longer use number plate recognition. You pay on arrival at the machine or through MiPermit, and several event pages elsewhere still tell you the opposite.

Road closures: nothing published yet

No traffic order for a Worthing seafront closure on 5 November had been published on the Public Notice Portal as at 3 October 2026; the Worthing notices currently live cover a gas main job on Balcombe Avenue, double yellow lines on West Parade and parking charges. The Lions say closures around the pier and seafront will happen, so plan as if Marine Parade by the pier is shut for the evening. Watch our Worthing roadworks and travel page, where we will add the order when it appears.
